4.4.2 Linear Scale

Parts/Components need to be removed in advance
Upper Housing / Scanner Unit / Panel Unit / M/B Cover / Waste Ink Tray Assy /
Middle Housing

Removal procedure
1. Remove the spring from the left frame of the printer.
2. Release the Linear Scale from the hook at the right frame of the printer.
3. Pull out the Linear Scale from the CR Encoder of the CR Unit.
4. Turn the Linear Scale upward by 90 degrees and release it from the left hook.

C A U T I O N

When you hold the Linear Scale, hold its ends or two points of
the top and bottom surfaces with your hands; do not touch the
reading surface.

Take care that the reading surface is not soiled or scratched.
Especially when putting the Linear Scale through the CR
Encoder during reassembly work, take great care that grease of
the CR Guide Shafts does not adhere to the reading surface.

Step 1. Remove the spring
Step 2. Release it from the hook
Step 3. Pull it out from CR Encoder
