4.5.2 CIS Unit

Parts/Components need to be removed in advance
Upper Housing / Scanner Unit / Scanner Housing

Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the FFC from the connector of the CIS unit.
2. Turn the CIS Unit by 90 degrees upward, and remove the CIS Unit from the right
and left shaft holes of the carriage.

C A U T I O N
Take care in handling the Lower Housing because grease is
applied to the CR guide area of the Lower Housing.
Do not touch any parts with a greasy hand or part.
Remove by turning it by 90 degrees.

When replacing the CIS Unit, check the sticker on the Bottom
Board, and use the spacers (x2) of the same letter (A - C) as the
marking on the sticker, placing them at the right and left
positions.

When installing the Timing Belt, align the side that has teeth of
the Timing Belt with the tooth of the CIS Unit, then secure
them with the Belt Clamp.
