Appendix D
Problem Solving and Maintenance
This appendix presents solutions for possible problems, explanations
of the EX's advanced features, and tips on maintaining and transporting
your printer.
General Troubleshooting
Problem
Printer does not print
Recommendation
Make sure that the printer is turned on
and is on line. Both the POWER and ON
LINE lights should be on.
Make sure that the printer and computer
are connected. Be certain you are using
the correct cable.
Make sure the printer is connected to
only one interface.
If the program you are using allows you
to choose between screen output and
printer output, see that you have selected
printer output.
If the printer still does not print, try the
self test procedure (see Chapter 1). If the
self test works correctly, the printer is all
right, and the problem lies elsewhere. If
the self test doesn’t work, contact your
dealer.
