2.3.2. Printer Port
The printer can be connected using the following interfaces.
•
Parallel Interface
•
Serial Interface
•
USB Interface (Windows98 Second Edition, Windows 2000 or Windows XP only)
•
Ethernet Interface
It is recommended that connection to the parallel interface be made when printing at high speed.
Also, if you desire to print at higher speeds, set the operating mode for your parallel port on the ECP mode in your computer’s
BIOS settings.
When using a parallel interface with Windows2000, XP, use the ESD_LPTx port.
If ESD_LPTx is not displayed, select
LPTx.
[Caution]
•
With some computers, if the ECP mode is set for the parallel port-operating mode, it may become impossible to print
normally or to use Status Monitor API. In this case, clear the ECP Mode setting.
