MAINTENANCE BY THE USER
Housing and accessories
Before performing any user maintenance, switch off the
apparatus and disconnect it from the power supply. The
apparatus can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Use luke-
warm water and a non-abrasive liquid household
cleaner.
Electrodes and sponge pads
The rubber electrodes and sponge pads should be
cleaned with lukewarm water. For stubborn stains or dirt,
cleaning and disinfection can be done using a 70% al-
cohol solution. During this process, the black coloration
of the rubber electrodes may be stained. This does not
affect the operation of the electrodes.
In areas where the water is soft, it is possible that the
water may conduct poorly resulting in abnormally low
currents. When disinfecting sponges, their conductivity
may also be adversely affected. In these cases it is pos-
sible to use a saline solution to improve the conductivity
of the water.
When the electrodes are not being used, the sponge
pads should be removed. This increases the operational
life of the rubber electrodes.
Sponge pads should be replaced regularly .
We advise that you should keep an extra set of sponge
pads in stock.
Patient cable
Check the cable regularly for damages and bad contact.
We advise that you should keep an extra patient cable

End life span apparatus and accessories

and accessories contains materi-
als which can be recycled and/or are noxious for the
environment. At the end of the duration of life, special-
ised concerns can take apart these articles and sort out
the noxious materials and materials for recycling. By
doing so you contribute to a better environment.
Please ensure that you are well informed of the local

FAULT CONDITIONS
Lamps and displays fail to light up
•
Check the mains cable and mains fuses.
Replacement of fuses
There are two mains fuses contained within the mains
input connector. Remove the power cord. Access to the
fuse holder is now possible. To slide out the fuse holder,
(situated above the mains switch) push the locking plate
in the direction of the arrow, and pull out. Replace the
fuse with one of the same rating (T1.6 H250V). Slide the
fuse holder back into place and re-connect the power
cord.
A number (code) appears on the display
The unit has discovered a fault using its “self-test”. Re-
move any applicators or cables from the output or re-
mote control sockets from the equipment, switch the unit
off for 5 seconds then switch it back on again. If the code
re-appears, contact your supplier. The unit is probably
defective.
None or insufficient output current
•
Check the patient cable for breaks or poor contact.
•
Ensure that the sponges are sufficiently moistened.
•
If necessary, use a salt solution.
•
Clean the electrodes and check for poor contact.
Broken contact in the CC-mode
When contact is broken in the CC-mode, the equipment
will indicate this with a beep-tone. In order to avoid an
unpleasant sensation for the patient, when the treatment
head or electrode is placed back onto the surface that is
to be treated, the current will ramp down to 0. To con-
tinue the treatment, you will have to set the current again.
