Highlight
Audio
in the Main menu and press the
button. The
Audio Setup
screen appears.

Highlight the box beside
Audio Recording
and press the
button. This toggles between
On
and
Off
. When it is On, the DVR also records audio when it is
recording video.
Highlight the box beside
Mute
and press the
button. This toggles between
On
and
Off
. When it is On, the DVR will NOT play live or recorded audio.
The DVR supports 4 Audio inputs. You can set up each input on the
Audio Setup
screen. When it is On, the DVR will play live audio through the attached
speaker when it displays live video. Move to Audio In field, and highlight the box under
On/Off
heading, and press the
button. This toggles between
On
and
Off
.
You can save your changes by highlighting
OK
and pressing the
button. Selecting
Cancel
exits the screen without saving the changes.
NOTE: The DVR will NOT record audio when the recording speed is set to less 15ips (12.5ips for PAL). The DVR may not record audio according to
the Transfer Speed when the RAS (Remote Administration System) Watch application program is connected.
RS-232/RS-485 Setup Screen
The
RS-232/RS-485
setup screen allows you to set up the RS-232C and RS-485 ports to communicate with external devices such as remote controls and
dome cameras.

Highlight the field for the settings you wish to make. Select the correct
Baud Rate
,
Parity
,
Data Bit
and
Stop Bit
for the device you are connecting to the DVR.
For RS-232, it is possible to select Remote Control, External Modem or Text-In in the
Usage
field. For RS-485, it is possible to select either Remote Control or
PTZ Control in the
Usage
field.
NOTE: Selecting the
External Modem
in the RS-232 field only decides the RS-232C port is used for the external modem connections.
Refer to Modem Setup screen for details of setting the external modem.
NOTE: Selecting the
PTZ Control
in the RS-485 field only decides the RS-485 port is used for the PTZ camera connections.
Select the PTZ device in the Camera Setup screen.
NOTE: If networking is configured by the external modem,
Text-In
cannot be set for
RS232
field.
In the Network Setup menu, set up the DVR for LAN connections first.
