C) Gaterotor Backlash Inspection
Gaterotor Backlash is the clearance between the gatero-
tor teeth width and the main rotor groove.
Follow these steps to perform the gaterotor backlash
inspection:
1. The Gaterotor should be aligned so that a tooth in
the rotor is perpendicular to the Main Axis as shown
in Figure 5-16. The tooth should be in the center
axis of the housing.
2. A dial indicator with magnetic base can be used
(Vilter part numbers 9994ARE or 9994ARJ for
the dial indicator, and 9994ARD for the magnetic
base). See Figure 5-17 for location.
