3.2.7. Weather forecast
From the weather forecast window, which uses symbols (sunny, bright, cloudy, and
rainy) to show the weather expected in the near future, an animated fun graphic
can be called up.
An appropriately dressed figure corresponding to the weather that is forecast moves
across the screen, for example, wearing a coat and carrying an umbrella or stretch-
ing out for a while in the sun.
Based on years of experience in the development of weather measurement tech-
nology, the weather forecast algorithms for the actual operating location of the
weather station are very sophisticated and reliable. Owing to comprehensive data
capture, the calculation of weather tendencies is accurate enough for these types
of devices as well, so that, for example, the weather station will not be “fooled” by
a short period of sunshine just before a long period of rainy weather sets in.
The comprehensive nature of the forecast depends also on the location of the sen-
sors, in flat countryside a comprehensive forecast of this sort is possible, whereas
in mountainous regions the conditions change more frequently.
