ELECTRICAL REPAIRS
Electrical Problems
Press does not heat or heats poorly.
a. Mains Lead: check by changing or using an ohmmeter (phase neutral – earthing)
whether the mains lead of the press is defective.
b. Connector Base: unscrew the connector base and check the connections.
c. Heating Elements: thermo-fuse / thermo-regulator (120V)
Use the ohmmeter with connectors 3 and 9. If the resistance is:
15 – 19
for 120 V
55 – 61
for 230 - 240V
The heating elements, thermo-fuse, thermo-regulator are in order.
If the ohm value does not correspond to the above value, check the thermo-fuse or
the thermo-regulator (120V), remove and replace it.
It is not possible to repair the thermo-fuse/thermo-regulator. When replacing the
thermo-fuse/thermo-regulator it is very important to use replacement parts with the
same quality and performance: thermo-fuse, 260° C and thermo-regulator
200°/260° C. Be sure to install them exactly the same way.
If the thermo-fuse/thermo-regulator is not defective and the problem persists, check
each heating element separately. The ohm resistance should be:
230-240V 120V
Long heating element (front side)
34 – 36
09 – 13
Short heating element (back side)
23 – 25
06 – 10
If the problem persists, change the thermo-sensor/thermo-regulator.
d. Sensor of Pressure Arm Position
Dismantle the upper handle cover; see page 4;5.
Check the position of the tilt switch (it should be correctly mounted on the
base).
Check to make sure that all connectors have a solid contact.
