5.1 TEST DETECTION DEVICES
Warning:
The test on detection devices must be made with module MR16 in disarmed status.
To check detection devices (micro contacts and IR detectors) operation:
•
Set DIP switch A3 of radio module MR16 to ON.
•
Press once control pushbutton on radio module MR16. Radio module sends out 3 beeps and test
mode is armed.
•
Arm detection devices one by one, simulating an intrusion attempt (pass before IR detectors, open and
close doors and windows provided with micro contacts, rise and lower shutters provided with wire
detectors). Whenever a device is stressed, associated LED blinks and the buzzer sends out one two-
tone beep. When the device returns to its rest position, the LED remains on steady for DC500 and
blinking for IR500 and DC500 auxiliary input.
•
Set DIP switch 3 to OFF to quit test mode; radio module MR16 will send out one two-tone beep for
output confirmation.
Warning:
to preserve battery charge, IR detector arms one minute wait time whenever it is
armed. During this wait, any other detected movements are not warned about and every new
detection resets wait time timer. In order that a new movement is warned about, the detector is
consequently needed not to have detected anything for at least one minute consecutively.
Micro contact and IR detector operation can also be checked during normal working conditions. In this
case, just press Test key on the device, arming its Test mode for three minutes.
Then just arm the device, opening the door or window or passing before IR detector according to the
cases, to simulate an alarm. Device LED will blinks first red to indicate that the signal is sent to radio
module MR16 and then green to confirm that it was received from radio module. As long as in Test mode,
the device will send out warnings according to this criterion at every opening operation or movement
being detected by it.
By pressing Test key again, test mode is extended by 3 minutes more.
Note:
When some detectors fails the test, check that involved device is able to communicate with radio module
MR16. If the test is successful when the device is displaced, it means that the problem is in previously
chosen position and that just another place is to be found where mounting it. If, even displacing it, it still
does not work, then the problem might be in the device itself, which should be replaced.
Warning
: you are warned against mounting the detector in positions where its green LED does
not go on or goes on late.
