BEFORE YOU START
The ELB 1200 and the ELB 1200 heads are portable units, which will be frequently used “on
location”. Please be aware of the danger, or inconvenience, which it may represent to others
for example children.
• Ensure that the power pack is switched OFF.
• Connect the fl ash cable with the security locking ring to the power pack.
• Adapt the re fl ectors or accessories, which are required for the shooting.
• Only correctly fi tted fl ash cable connections are secured against moister and dust.
• Power pack outlets not in use must be protected with the security covers.
• Check all connections again; the cable must be locked with the security ring and then
switch on the unit.
Please read the ELB 1200 power pack manual.

Always switch off the unit before connecting or disconnecting heads.
• Always switch off the unit before connecting accessories and re fl ectors.
• Ambient temperature when the unit is in use: -20° C (-4° F) up to 40° C (104° F).
USER SAFETY INFORMATION
• Because a portable fl ashhead is frequently used “on location” please be aware of the
danger, or inconvenience, which it may represent to others for example children.
• Keep fl ash units out of reach of unauthorised persons whenever possible.
• Do not use in restricted areas (like hospitals, always ask permission before).
• Do not use near fl ammable / explosive material.
• Always switch off the unit before connecting or disconnecting heads.
• Flashtubes and the LED-re fl ector dishes may become very hot during and after use!
• Do not touch the LED; this might cause damages.
• Never touch a fl ashtube or exchange it before the unit has cooled down and is
disconnected from the battery.
• Do not fi re fl ashes from short distances when directed towards a person.
• Minimum distance for persons: 30 cm, for animals 1 – 2 m.
