Wiring the Coolant temperature sensor is straightforward. See
Figure 51
for details.
Since the sensor is just a resistor, wires “A” and “B” can be switched with no adverse results.
To test for faulty coolant temperature sensors, simply measure the resistance across
terminals A and B with an ohmmeter. Match the resistance of the sensor to the operating
temperature using
Table 5
. As a guideline, use the following specs:
Cold engine (70F, 20C): ~3300
Hot Engine (180F, 80C): ~350
