CONNECT THE INDOOR TO THE OUTDOOR UNIT
The indoor unit cont a ins a s ma ll q u a ntity o f re f ri g er a nt. Do not unscre w
the nuts f ro m the unit until you a re re a dy to connect the tubin g . The
outdoor unit is supplied w ith su ff icient re f ri g er a nt ch a r g e. Re f er to outdoor
unit n am epl a te.
To prevent crushin g , bend tubes usin g a bendin g tool.
NOTE: Use re f ri g er a tion type copper tubin g only.
1. Use tubin g di am eter th a t corresponds to the tubin g di am eter o f the
indoor a nd outdoor units. Note th a t the li q uid a nd suction tubes
h a ve di ff erent di am eters. ( S ee tube si z e, tor q ue ti g htenin g t a ble.)
2 . Pl a ce f l a re nuts on tube ends be f ore prep a rin g the m w ith a f l a rin g tool
Use the f l a re nuts th a t a re m ounted on the supplied outdoor a nd indoor
units.
3. Connect the f our ends o f the tubin g to the indoor a nd outdoor units.
4. Insul a te e a ch tube sep a r a tely, a nd their unions, w ith a t le a st 6 mm .

c a bles to g ether w ith a vinyl t a pe (U V protected).

EVACUATION OF THE REFRIGERATION TUBES AND
THE INDOOR UNIT
Af ter connectin g the unions o f the indoor a nd outdoor units, pu g e the
a ir f ro m the tubes a nd indoor unit a s f ollo w s:
1. Connect the ch a r g in g hoses w ith a push pin to the lo w a nd hi g h
sides o f the ch a r g in g set a nd the serice port o f the suction a nd
li q uid v a lves. Be sure to connect the end o f the ch a r g in g hose w ith
the push pin to the service port.
2 . Connect the center hose o f the ch a r g in g set to a v a cuu m pu m p
3. Turn on the po w er s w itch o f the v a cuu m pu m p a nd mak e sure th a t
the needle in the ga u g e m oves f ro m 0MP a (0c m H g )to -0.1 MP a
(- 76 c m H g ). Let the pu m p run f or f i f teen m inutes.
4. Close the v a lves o f both the lo w a nd hi g h sides o f the ch a r g in g set
a nd turn o ff the v a cuu m pu m p. Note th a t the needle in the ga u g e
should not m ove af ter a pproxi ma tely f ive m inutes.
5. Disconnect the ch a r g in g hose f ro m the v a cuu m pu m p a nd f ro m the
service ports o f the suction a nd li q uid v a lves.
6 . Ti g hten the service port c a ps o f both suction a nd li q uid v a lves.
7 . Re m ove the v a lve c a ps f ro m both v a lves, a nd open the m usin g a
hex ag on a l A llen w rench.
8. Re m ount v a lve c a ps onto both o f the v a lves.
9. Chec k f or ga s le ak s f ro m the f our unions a nd f ro m the v a lve c a ps.
Text w ith electronic le ak detector or w ith a spon g e i mm ersed in
so a py wa ter f or bubbles.
