set screw, so it must be removed first.
In the following proce dure, use only your
finge rnails; a tool may scratch the knob.
Using your fingernails at the point identified below,
pull the finger grip forward slightly. Rotate the
knob and repeat until the grip can be pulled off.
Use the supplied 5/64" (2 mm) Allen wrench to
loosen the set screw.
Between the knob and front panel are two felt
washers which, when compressed, reduce the spin
rate. Move the knob in or out in small increments
until the desired rate is obtained. (Re-tighten the set

Real Time Clock Battery Replacement
K3 components or module s can be e asily be
damage d by ESD (electrostatic discharge). To
avoid this, put on a grounde d wrist strap (with 1
me gohm se ries resistor) or touch a grounde d
surface be fore touching anything inside the
enclosure. An anti-static work mat is strongly
re commende d.
The battery for the real time clock/calendar is
located on the left side of the RF board. To access
it, turn power off, then remove the top cover as
described in Appendix A.
Remove the sub receiver module (KRX3) if present.
Remove the old battery.
If a KRX3 module (sub receive r) is installe d,
the batte ry will be prote cte d by a plastic slee ve,
which pre vents shorting to the KRX3 module. Be
sure to save this slee ve and re place it when the
ne w battery is installe d.
Replace the battery with the same type of 3-V
lithium coin cell (CR2032, BR2032, equivalent).
The (+) terminal is clearly marked on the battery; it
must be oriented as indicated by the (+) symbol on
the RF board. Re-install the KRX3 module (if
applicable) and the top cover.
