4.0 - Terms of use
4.1 - Introduction
The generating sets produced by ELCOS are used primarily in those cases where it is necessary to make the production of power
self-sufficient or where it is necessary to ensure the supply of systems which are normally powered from the mains voltage.
P ermitted uses of ELCOS Generating Set
WARNING !!
It is allowed to use the G.S. only in cases where there are all the conditions listed below.
•
Mechanical and electrical compatibility between the user system and the G.S.
•
Compatibility between the environmental conditions and the G.S. (See table below)
•
Compatibility of the place intended for the installation of the G.S.
Standard units are not designed to work in classified environments (Environments with danger of explosion, etc.).
The standards G.S. must operate free from dust-laden atmospheres and inclement weather such as rain, snow, high humidi-
ty and direct sunlight.
•
The installation, electrical connection and maintenance must be in accordance with regulations.
•
The installation, electrical connection and maintenance are carried out and supervised by qualified and trained
personnel that checks the characteristics of the system and protection devices.
•
Fuels complying with EN 590:1993 must be used to fill up the ELCOS G.S.
4.2 - Operating environmental conditions
The performances declared for ELCOS G.S. refer to the following environmental conditions provided for by the standard ISO8528-1:
ambient temperature
25°C
relative humidity
30%
atmospheric pressure
100 kPa (1 bar)
altitude
0-1000 m s.l.m.
power factor (cosfi)
0.8
type of load
Balanced - non distortional
Please check the power of the generator through the following correction factors:
ALTITUDE: the power diminishes on average by 1% for every 100 m. of altitude above sea level. If the generator is used
above an altitude of 2000 m., contact our technical office.
TEMPERATURE: the power diminishes on average by 2% for every 5°C of temperature above 20°C.
!
Different conditions from those standards may lead to changes and downgrades (derating) according to the
tables provided by manufacturers of engine, alternator and generating set.
