4.3.2. Printer prints everything onto one microline –printer motor stops
(compressed printing)
Proceed according to the table „General activities for printer malfunctions“. If the problem continues, continue according to the
following table.

Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Measure using an oscilloscope the course of signals A, An, B, Bn,
LFA, LFAn, LFB, LFBn.
Check UU1. (E50MB.pdf, list print-control.schdoc)
4.3.3. Light printing
Proceed according to the table „General activities for printer malfunctions“. If the problem continues, continue accor-
ding to the following table.
Table 4.7. Procedure for light printing

Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Confirm whether a paper ribbon recommended by the
manufacturer is being used
Use recommended paper ribbon and launch the printer test
(200)
2
Launch the test of the cash register supply voltage
(900) and measure the voltage VH. Compare the me-
asured voltage with the voltage displayed on the cash
register.
Check whether the voltage for the capacitor is C43 = 0.24*VH. If it
is not, check R48, R56, C43. (E50MB.pdf, list print-control.schdoc)
4.3.4. The paper ribbon does not wind reliably or at all on the winding reel
Table 4.8. Procedure if the winding reel of the paper ribbon does not wind reliably or at all
ID
Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Check placement of the reel
Repair the incorrectly placed reel of the control ribbon
2
Check the placement of the winding motor
Repair the improperly placed winding motor
3
Check the elastic band on the winding motor
Replace the elastic band
4
Check the connection of the winding motor
Repair the connection
6
Defective motor for winding the journal
4.3.5. The cash register inexplicably signals the absence of one of
the paper ribbons or a lifted printer head
Table 4.9. Procedure with inexplicable signaling of the absence of
a paper ribbon or unauthorized signaling of a lifted printer head

Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Check the connection of the printer‘s FPC cable and if it is dama-
ged.
Check the connection of the auxiliary paper ribbon sensor.
Repair the connection of the cables or damage, if
possible.
2
Check the connection of the external sensor for the position of the
platen, or functioning of the switch used.
Repair sensor connection or replace the switch.
3
Start the test of the paper ribbon sensors (202). Measure voltage
for outputs XC7-3, XC8-2. If the ribbon is present, voltage is > 2V,
If the ribbon is not present, voltage is < 0.8V. Measure voltage for
outputs XC9-2. If the platen is lifted, voltage is < 0.8V, If the platen
is in the proper position, voltage is > 2V.
Check the sensors for paper and printer head posi-
tion.
4
Check the logic level signals PS1, PS2. Check logic level signal of
PLATEN.
Check resistors R51, R61, R67 and capacitors C44, C56,
C57. (E50MB.pdf, list print-control.schdoc)
Note: Signals PS1, PS2, PLATEN are valid only if the VDDQSW voltage is switched on.
