Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Check the connection of DPS E50 PWR and the motherboard
and for damage to the cable bundle (15-pin)
Repair connecting cable or if damaged, replace it.
2
Check passive components on DPS E50 PWR and DPS E50
MB
Replace the faulty component. (E50PWR.pdf, list connectors.
SchDoc) (E50MB.pdf, list rs232-usb-sd.SchDoc)
3
Check signal SDDETECTn and functioning of the switch for
detecting a card in the connector.
Replace the connector. (E50PWR.pdf, list connectors.
SchDoc)
4
Check the signals for outputs of circuit DD2.
Replace circuit DD2. (E50PWR.pdf, list connectors.SchDoc)
4.6. Power supply malfunctions
4.6.1. Voltage on the power supply board (DPS E50 PWR)
Table 4.14. Power and operating voltages for the E50 power supply board.
Voltage
Value
Note
VIN
12V (11,4 - 12,6V)
Input (supply) voltage for the cash register. This is actually voltage brought
from the adapter.
VINF
12V (11 - 12,2V)
The voltage of VIN, decreased by voltage drop on diode VD1.
VBAT
6,5 - 8,4V
Voltage of Li-ion accumulator. The value is dependent on the state of its
charge.
VDDQ
3,3V ( ± 3%)
Power supply for cash register circuits
EXT5V
5V ± 0,5V
Power supply for external equipment
ON/OFF
U >1.3V = ON, U < 0.3 = OFF.
Control voltage for supply VDDQ
XEXT5VON
U > 1.85V = ON, U < 1.15V = OFF.
Control voltage for supply EXT5V.
ACCUTMP
1V - 2,3V
Voltage dependent on accumulator temperature.
APPDETECTn
U = 3,3V - adapter disconnected
U < 0.3V - adapter connected
Detection of adapter connectedness
4.6.2. Malfunctions of the entry filter
Indicators: VIN - OK, VINF - missing or is low
Table 4.15. Procedure for removing malfunctions of the entry filter
ID
Test
Steps in the case of an unsuccessful test
1
Check fuse FU1.
If faulty, replace. (E50PWR.pdf, list power.SchDoc).
2
Check transil VZ2.
If faulty (punctured), replace. (E50PWR.pdf, list power.SchDoc).
3
Check diode VD1.
If faulty (interrupted), replace. (E50PWR.pdf, list power.SchDoc).
4
Check ferrite bead L4.
If faulty (interrupted), replace. (E50PWR.pdf, list power.SchDoc).
5
All components are OK.
Fault probably in charger circuits.
4.6.3. Malfunctions of the charger
Indicators: VIN - OK, VINF - missing or low
