Hydraulic connections
Hydraulic connections to the
heating system
The heater flow and return lines must
be kept as short as possible and well-
insulated in order to avoid heat loss.
The hydraulic connections should be
made with flexible ducts in order to
avoid broken ducts and the transmis-
sion of structure-borne noise
through the distribution network to
the radiators.
The ductwork must be carried out in
such a way that pressure drops at the
nominal volume flow do not exceed
the available pressure since this
would reduce the output of the heat
pump.
This means that ducts cannot have
elbows that are too narrow.
The optional pre-assembled trans-
mission line allows the machine to be
connected quickly and securely.
It consists of a sound-insulated, flexi-
ble duct which contains
•
Flow and return pipes for the
heater
•
Condensation drainpipe
•
Conduit to accommodate electri-
cal cable.

Ø 1” flexible.
Each heat pump has defined stand-
ard hydraulic diagrams. Integration in
accordance with these various
diagrams will ensure trouble-free and
safe operation.
Before making hydraulic connec-
tions, the entire pipeline system of
new as well as retrofitted systems
must be thoroughly flushed.
Residue left in the heater pipes will
damage the heat exchangers and
cause the heat pumps to malfunction.
It is recommended that a dirt filter be
installed in the heater return line,
especially if no buffer storage is
present.
