2) Partially charge the battery. Remove the battery from the
touch panel and store in a cool dry place such as the
refrigerator. DO NOT FREEZE.
NOTE:
Both
methods aid in increasing the overall battery life of
your VIA!2-8.4 Wireless Touch Panel, and help prevent the
battery from reaching a non recoverable deep discharged
state.
Battery Deep Discharge State
A battery “
deep discharge
” state is caused when the battery voltage dis-
charges (or drains) to such a low voltage level that the battery can no
longer hold a charge or cannot be recharged. This can happen if the VIA!2-
8.4 Wireless Touch Panel is not recharged over extended periods of time,
such as when leaving the VIA!2-8.4 Touch Panel at a summer home where
long periods of inactivity may occur.
After deep discharge it may be possible to recharge the battery by plug-
ging/unplugging the AC/DC power from the device several times to see if
the charging LED comes on and battery shows some operational capacity
after a several minutes of charging. In extreme cases the battery voltage
level will be too low for recharging and the battery will need to be
replaced.
CAUTION: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an
incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to
the instructions. Failure to comply may result in serious
injury.
Good Tips To Know
•
Use the Stylus whenever possible to reduce finger prints.
•
Do not use other sharp or hard objects to operate the VIA!2. A
sudden impact or concentrated pressure can damage the
protective film or break the panel glass.
•
Constant pressure from an object to the Panel can generate a
‘false’ signal. Do not to let objects rest up against the panel.
•
Avoid placing adhesive materials on the Touch Panel.
•
Avoid moisture, direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
•
Keep Touch Panel time-outs short in duration to increase battery
life span.
