6-4. Measurement
1) Measuring Screen
Connect the PV-cables to the Main unit PV input terminal; connect the
red cable to the plus (+) and black cable to the minus (-) of the PV
array/module. When taking measurements, the PV array/module
must be completely disconnected from power conditioners (inverter)
and such.
The measurement can be started immediately by just pressing the
MEASURE key when the screen is on MAIN MENU or MONITOR screen.
*When taking measurements of large capacity PV arrays, wait at least 1 minute for taking
next measurement; rising of the internal temperature may shorten the life of the device.
After confirming the connection, press MEASURE and MP-170 starts measurement.
* NOTE *
Before starting the measurement, set the calibration value of pyranometer or reference
cell
The measurement is started with the MEASURE key, the range is set to 1000V, 20A.
For most accurate results in measurement and STC conversion, set the parameters to
the same values as in the CONFIG menu.
Measurement screen
It takes about 10 seconds to complete.
Warning message for Reverse Connection
If connected polarity of the PV cable (+/-) is
incorrectly, this warning is indicated and stops
taking measurement.
