8-1 Daily maintenance
- Clean the domes of the angle capture and the pyranometer with soft cloth before using
MP-170.
- Use fresh battery
- Adjust the clock of the Main unit and the Sensor unit before starting measurement.
8-2 Storing note
- Remove batteries when MP-170 is not in use for a long time.
- Store MP-170 in low humidity condition.
9-1. Communication errors
- Confirm USB driver is installed to PC.
- “COM port access error” is displayed when Start, Load, Set Clock is clicked.
It is possible that the COM port number is not properly set.
Remove the USB cable from PC and go to “COM port” of “General” window.
The COM number (usually COM1) is shown.
Connect USB cable again and go to “COM port” again. If a larger COM port
number is shown, select this by pressing OK .
Select COM1 if this is shown in both cases.
If there are multiple COM ports and the number has not changed after removing
the USB cable, reinstall the USB driver and repeat this procedure.
9-2. Measurement errors
- Unable to measure I-V curve
a) Confirm that output voltage, current and power of PV module / array are within
the specifications of MP-170.
b) Internal fuse maybe broken.
DO NOT open MP-170 to avoid secondary defects.
Send MP-170 back to EKO.
- Data of the Sensor unit is not synchronized with the data of the Main
unit.
The backup battery is not equipped in the Main unit.
In order to maintain the
internal
clock
running continuously,
when
the
battery
dies;
instead, a
super capacitor is used. Therefore, the time that had been setup is cleared in
approximately 3 days after the battery has died.
Confirm that the both clocks of the Main unit and the Sensor unit are synchronized
before starting the measurement.
(For environment-friendly purpose, EKO does not accept Lithium battery.)
- Unable to measure continuously.
Check whether the starting time is setup earlier than the finishing time.
