Switch Setup
The FCCA is a two channel system. Channel 1 is designated the “FIRE
AREA” (channel 1), and channel 2 is designated as “OTHER
AREAS”. FCCA operation is configured independently for each
channel using two 8 position DIP switches, SW1 and SW2. Each
channel may operate in one of the five modes described below:
Mode 0:
The tone selected by switches SW(1/2)-1 through SW(1/2)-4
is available at pre-amp output terminals 5 and 6 (channel 1) or 8 and 9
(channel 2) when the FCCA is activated.
Mode 1:
Boston Code Sequence (The FCCA is capable of performing
the Boston Code Sequence as required for the city of Boston. However,
some additional programming techniques must be implemented in
order for this application to be utilized correctly.) Refer to applications
section at the end of this manual.
Mode 2:
The signal source connected to AUX IN terminals 10 and 11
(channel 2) or 12 and 13 (channel 1) is available at the pre-amp output
terminals 5 and 6 (channel 1) or 8 and 9 (channel 2) when the FCCA is
activated.
Mode 3:
Pre-Alarm: Alarm signal output from FCCA is NOT present
at the pre-amplifier output terminals for a period of 3 minutes, unless
manually activated using the FCCA front panel switches or a
subsequent alarm has been sensed. When the FCCA senses a second
alarm, it will switch to Mode 0 operation.
Mode 4:
Pre-announcement horn: Sounds the “horn” tone for 5
seconds when microphone push to talk (PTT) switch is activated. The
microphone is disabled during the 5 seconds the horn is sounding, and
is enabled when the horn turns off, permitting announcements to be
made.
Zones 23 and 24 are provided as FCCA paging activity indicators.
Zone 23(24) enable: Zone 23(24) is generated when the FCCA is
active (i.e. fire, waterflow, security, or supervisory alarm) and channel
1(2) has been selected by the front panel switches for MIC or PHONE
PAGE.
