and install a cable safety stop system.
By vertical ascents and descents the operator must install
suitable anchor and or belay points preventing any forces from
exceeding 6kN.
The Smart Belay Holster is recommended for transporting the
Smart Belay.

WHEN USING THE SMART BELAY: DON’T DO’S
The neglecting of the basic rules for the Smart Belay could
cause a system failure and lead to injury Users of the Smart
Belay should refrain from the following. Should a failure occur
in the function the product must be immediately controlled.

your contract partner if problems occur with the product not
functioning properly.
Using force to open the Pulley Karabiners is forbidden.

Trying to open the second Karabiner when the first is already
open should be refrained from and is otherwise wilful damage
of the Smart Belay. The maximum force that can be applied to
the closed karabiner should not be greater than the force re-
quired to open the first Karabiner.
Wilful twisting of the Lanyards should be prohibited.

Wilful bending of the Lanyard should be prohibited.

Ones head should not be between the Lanyard ends during the
exercises, risk of strangulation is evident. Depending on the
design of the adventure park and it's elements as well as the
configuration of the used Smart Belay units, it may be compul

sory to use the EDELRID product Pilot Bar to minimize the risk
of strangulation for the customer.

The deliberate ground contact with the Pulley Karabiners
should be avoided.

Dropping the units can damage
or impair the function.
The Soiling of the Pulley Karabiner by dragging it on the ground
should be avoided.

The Pulley Karabiners, for safety reasons, cannot be clipped to
the harness, branches or the Lanyard.

Hands should not be on the Pulley Karabiners during exercises
as there is the danger of trapping your fingers.

MAINTENANCE:
The following maintenance procedures have to be conducted
by the park operator.
Fittings: The screws and bolts of the Smart Belay have to be
controlled every week and if necessary tightened, with a correct-
ly sized Torx
®
wrench applying the correct Torque.

Greasing: If the Pulley Karabiners become stiff the pulley should
be greased using acid free spray grease.

Any non authorised release of the Rolling karabiner is strictly
