Audio menu
Sound
Output
Sets the audio output preset. TV, S/PDIF, HDMI ARC, Headphone Only and Lineout options
will be available. There is no audio output except through the selected option and the
headphone jack. If this option is set to Headphones Only, the TV speakers will be muted
when headphones are connected.
If you connect an external amplifier to the TV using the headphone jack, you can select
Lineout. If you have headphones connected to the TV, select Headphones only. Before using
headphones, please make sure that this menu item is set to Headphones Only. If it is set to
Lineout, the output from the headphone jack will be set to maximum and may damage your
hearing.
When HDMI ARC is selected, the CEC function is activated.
Note:
Depending on the option you select, some items in the Sound menu will appear
greyed out and will not be available.
AVL (Au-
tomatic
Volume
Limiting)
Adjusts the sound to balance the output volume between programs.
If the Dolby Audio menu item is set to an option other than Off the AVL setting options will
be changed. Options such as Auto, Night, Normal and Off will be available. In Auto mode,
the TV automatically switches to Normal or Night mode according to the current time
information. If no time information is available, this function will always function as Normal.
When the TV switches to Night mode after setting this option to Auto for the first time, an
information bar appears on the screen.
Please note that compared to Normal mode, Night mode provides more aggressive dynamic
compression control that is suitable for quiet environments.

Equalizer
Selects the equalizer mode. User settings can only be changed in User
mode.
Dynamic Bass
Enables or disables Dynamic Bass.
Sound Mode
You can select an audio mode (if the channel displayed supports it).
Digital audio
output
Sets the type of digital audio output. PCM, Auto and Passthrough
options will be available.
PCM:
This option provides a two-channel uncompressed digital audio
output. You can use this option if you have compatibility problems, for
example if you can't hear the sound.
Auto:
This option provides multi-channel digital audio output (up to 5.1
channels).
Passthrough:
This option provides the original audio output as such
in HDMI ARC. We recommend using this option if you have an eARC-
enabled A/V receiver. If your A/V receiver does not support the source
audio format, compatibility problems such as audible audio may occur.
Headphone
volume
Adjusts the volume of the headphones. This option will not be available
if the Audio Output option is not set to Lineout.
Before using the headphones, make sure the volume of the headphones
is set to a low level to avoid damaging your hearing.
Balance
Adjusts the sound balance. This function is activated when Audio
Output is set to TV or Headphones Only. The Balance item adjusts the
balance level of the TV and headphone speakers.
