Executes the selected settings during the participation in the Demand Response program. The configurable
options are described in the table below.
Table 8. Demand Response Configurable Options
On-Peak Period
1 and 2
The on-peak energy period when energy and demand rates are highest, and the user wants to
enable peak shaving. This parameter is defined by the customer or the local utility energy provider.
This value is entered by the user in 24-hour time in hh: mm format
Off-Peak Period
1 and 2
The off-peak energy period when energy and demand rates are lowest, and the user does not want
to engage in peak shaving. This parameter is defined by the customer or the local utility energy
provider. This value is entered by the user in 24 hour time in hh: mm format.
The EnergyAware Controller is organized to support two on-peak and off-peak operational periods
of interest, Period 1 and Period 2. The user can organize these two periods. For example, morning
and afternoon operational peak periods. The supporting parameters like Target Power, Time
Duration, and Battery Charge Delay Time are also designated for each period. If the user does not
wish to subdivide the on-peak and off-peak periods, then simply use the first period, Period 1, and
enter 0’s into the fields associated with Period 2.
When entering times for on-peak and off-peak periods, users must convert their local time to UTC.
Times entered across on-peak and off-peak periods 1 and 2 must sum to 24hrs or an Invalid
Schedule Alarm will be enunciated when

.
Note:
The On-
Peak and Off-Peak should not overlap; for example, if on-peak period 1 ends at 01:59, then off-peak
period 1 should begin at 02:00.
Target Power
1 and 2
The input power limit level above which peak shaving is started during the on-peak period. The
Eaton xStorage 400 will discharge batteries to keep the site power below the Target Power during
the associated on-peak period.
