The control for the change-over is driven by the Fault
output on the primary 2Mx controller. The units utilise
a 48V relay (powered from the standard rack DC supply
voltage) to select which controller can send control
data onto the bus. If two tap PCBs are needed then the
control for the second should be in parallel with the first,
as shown in Figure 18.
ote:
N
Two N+1 Tap PCBs are required if both the Amplifier and Beacon
Buses are in use.
7.4 Sync bus
The 2Mx generates a sync datagram to keep A and
B system aligned in their operation. This datagram
consists of the resolved priority and general operation &
fault diagnostics.
The recommended maximum cable run for the sync
bus is 100m (please discuss with your local Eaton
representative on longer distances)
7.5 System priority
The Sonix 2Mx resolves the priority between all
connected audio and alarm sources on the system e.g.
access panels, Io, MS12 and PBx. There is no inherent
priority between these unit types, and access to system
is determined by the configured priority of each unit.
If the 2Mx is connected to another 2Mx as part of a
duplicated system, then the remote sync bus datagram
is also included in the priority decision. When the
remote sync priority is resolved as the highest priority
by the 2Mx it will route that audio and control data to the
relevant output units. Where the priorities are equal, the
primary 2Mx will win over the secondary 2Mx and both
systems will play the source from the primary system.
ote:
N
Priority for each unit must be unique within each system but A
and B sides of unit should be the same.
