7.3.1 N+1 Tap PCB
The N+1 tap PCB is added into the rack design to
improve amplifier and beacon controller monitoring on
the secondary 2Mx controller. Its function is two-fold,
first to provide a ‘copy’ of the amplifier/beacon status
replies and second to provide full coverage when the
primary 2Mx controller is disabled or powered down.
The CAT6A connections are shown in Figure 17. One
tap PCB is required for Amplifier Bus and a second
for Beacon Bus, if in use. The connections for the
beacon bus follow an identical pattern to amplifier bus
connections shown..
