To turn of the previously chosen power module, select SHUT DOWN UPM again. Command
confirmation pop-up screen will show up asking confirmation for the action. Select YES. The UPM
opens its input contactor and goes to SHUTDOWN. The power module is turned off. The remaining
UPMs continue to supply the critical load. Logic power remains on.
7.5.15 Single UPM restart
To restart a single UPM from a shutdown state:

Press the LOCK icon on the main screen. The Sign In screen is displayed. Use operator password
to log in (factory default password is 0101).

Select CONTROLS on the main screen. SYSTEM CONTROLS screen opens up.

Select MODULE CONTROLS. All the installed UPMs and their status can be seen here.

Choose the desired UPM to start.

Select START UPM to start UPM rectifier and inverter and to transfer the UPM to IDLE state. The
UPM will not support the load yet. Or select GO TO NORMAL to command the UPM straight to
normal mode where it will support the load. Then the UPM state is active.
7.5.16 Single UPS shutdown using load off
NOTE
To shut down a single UPS, MOBs with dual auxiliary contacts must be installed and connected
according to the procedure in Section 5.2 on page 61.
To shut down a single UPS:
1
Open the MOB for the UPS being shut down.

On the UPS to shut down, select the CONTROLS on the main screen. The SYSTEM CONTROLS
screen is displayed.

Reinsure sure that the MOB is open and select GO TO BYPASS. The UPS being shut down
transfers to bypass, other UPSes should stay in online and will continue to support the load.

Now select LOAD OFF for the UPS being shut down. The input, output, battery, and bypass
backfeed contactors open, and the power module is turned off on the UPS being shut down. Logic
power remains on.
5.
Verify the battery breaker or disconnect for the UPS being shut down is open. If not, open the
breaker.

Open the input and bypass feeder circuit breakers for the UPS being shut down. The UPS is now
completely shut down. External Communications Failure alarm is active on remaining online UPSs.
This is an expected event and will clear upon UPS restart.
NOTE
Load Off will turn off only the UPS being shut down. The remaining UPSs will remain online
suppling power to the critical load.
7.
Perform the LOAD OFF procedure in Section 7.5.21 on the UPS being shut down.
The input, output, battery, and bypass backfeed contactors open, and the power module is turned
off on the UPS being shut down.
Logic power remains on.
8.
Verify the battery breaker or disconnect for the UPS being shut down is open. If not, open the
breaker.
