Title
5. Mounting and installation
5.1 Positioning the xChargeIn Mobility
5.2 Mounting
Do not mount the xChargeIn Mobility system above or below flammable building materials.
Do not install the xChargeIn Mobility system in areas where highly flammable substances are present.
Do not install the xChargeIn Mobility system in areas subject to explosion hazard.
To prevent the risk of electric shock or other injury, check that there are no electrical or hydraulic lines in the
walls before drilling the mounting holes of the xChargeIn Mobility.
The installation position of the xChargeIn Mobility must meet the following conditions:
•
The xChargeIn Mobility must be installed in a place with relative humidity below 95 %.
•
Optimal operation of the xChargeIn Mobility is in the temperature range -25 °C to +45 °C.
•
Install the xChargeIn Mobility to ensure easy access to the controls and connections.
•
When wall mounting, the surface where the xChargeIn Mobility will be installed must be able to take its weight (max. 17 kg).
•
The xChargeIn Mobility system must be used at a maximum altitude of 2000 m above sea level.
•
It should be fixed at a height of 135 cm from ground level, for optimal accessibility.
•
The power input electrical cable and the internet connection cable should be above or below the charging station,
30 cm away from the fixation points. The cables should have a 50 cm service loop length. Please refer to Figure 7.
xChargeIn Mobility can be mounted on a floor mounting stand with column (optional), or fixed directly to the wall.
Make sure there is enough free space for air circulation around the xChargeIn Mobility. Local regulations
may require larger clearances.
5.2.1 Site design
A site for electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with charging stations can be designed in different setups. This section
is intended to provide some valuable information on the placement of the charging stations with respect to parking
spaces.
As shown in Figure 7 and 8, Eaton recommends installing the charging station at the front and center of the parking
space, and each charging station should serve one parking space.
