Configure the max. recording time of a waveform event. This can be set via the
parameter »Max file size«, the maximum value is 15 s (including pre-trigger and post-
trigger time). The pre-trigger and post-trigger times of the waveform recorder are set (via
parameters »Pre-trigger time« and »Post-trigger time«) in percent of the »Max file
size« value.
To trigger the waveform recorder, up to eight signals can be selected. The trigger signals
are OR-linked. If a waveform record has been written, a new waveform record cannot be
triggered until all trigger signals that have triggered the previous waveform record are
gone.
Recording is only done for the time the assigned event exists (event controlled), plus the
time for the pre- and post-trigger, but not longer than the »Max file size« value.
NOTICE!
Obviously, it can happen that – depending on the actual duration of the trigger signal and
the settings – that the waveform event does not get recorded completely. The only way to
mitigate this risk (besides setting a smaller »Pre-trigger time«) is to configure a
larger »Max file size«. This, however, has the obvious consequence that a smaller number
of events can be held in memory.
In the same way it can happen that no more post-trigger time is left. Note that the
recording always gets stopped after the configured »Max file size« has elapsed.
The parameter »Auto overwriting« defines how the device will react if the storage
capacity has already been used up. In case »Auto overwriting« is »Active«, the oldest
recorded waveform will be overwritten. If the parameter is set to »Inactive«, recording of
the waveform events will be stopped until the storage location is manually released.
