Before placing the control into service
Prior to placing the control into service, the following
installation procedures must be properly completed and
verified:
Equipment misoperation.
Do not connect the control to an energized capacitor bank
until all control settings have been properly programmed and
verified. Refer to the programming information for this
control.
Failure to comply can result in control and capacitor bank
misoperation, equipment damage, and personal injury.

Verify that the control is properly mounted.
2.
Verify that the capacitor bank is installed according to all
locally approved standards and practices.
3.
Verify that AC disconnect switches are installed.
4.
Verify that the control and the neutral of the capacitor
bank are properly grounded.
Note:
The CBC-8000 control is grounded through the ground
lug located on the bottom of the control. This ground
lug is not tied to the neutral side of the control’s input
power (L2/N). Please make sure that the ground lug is
tied directly to Earth ground to ensure that the case
and internal components are safely grounded.
5.
Verify that the cable between the control and the
capacitor bank is properly connected and supported.
6.
Turn on the AC power to the control.
Note:
The control includes a feature that will turn off the
backlit LCD display after 5 minutes of inactivity at the
front panel (no buttons pressed). Pressing any button
on the front panel will turn on the LCD display
backlight.
7.
Verify that all of control programming parameters are
correctly entered.

8.
Set the control clock to the correct time. The real-time
clock will maintain its time for approximately 3 days
when power is lost.
