Step 6 - Connect external communications cables (if required)
See System Controller on page
and External Communications on page
.
SC100:
Connect RS232 communications cable to the front connector.
Ensure the cable is secured so that no force is applied to the RS232 connector as
this may damage the connector.
SC200:
Connect Ethernet and/or RS232 communications cables to the rear
connectors:
1
Undo the retaining screw and partly withdraw the SC200.
2
Route the communications cable(s) from the SC200 position, through the APS to
the I/O panel cable access hole at the rear.
3
Connect the communications cable(s) to the connector(s) on the rear of the
SC200.
RS232 connection access is restricted. If necessary, use a DB9 ribbon cable
extension (Farnell part number 869-6411 or similar).
4
Replace the SC200 and tighten the retaining screw.
For details on setup refer to Communications in the SC200 or SC100 Operation
Handbook. See Related Information on page
.

Task 5 - Connect the DC Load and Battery Cables
Step 1 - Connect battery cables
•
Always check that the battery cables have been terminated to the correct system polarity
BEFORE connecting the batteries or closing the battery disconnect device.
•
Connecting batteries to the system with incorrect system polarity will void all warranty
claims.
1
Switch OFF all circuit breakers.
2
Select battery cable to suit the battery circuit breaker (refer to following table).
3
Route the battery cables to the APS.
4
Terminate the battery live and common cable(s) with suitable crimp lugs (refer
to the following table).
5
Connect the battery common cable(s) on the common bar at the battery
termination points.
6
Terminate the battery live cable(s) at the battery circuit breaker terminal(s).
7
Tighten all terminations to 3.9 - 4.5Nm (35 - 39 inch-pounds).
