11 Decommissioning, storage and disposal
DANGER
Danger due to electrical voltage
Contact with live wires may result in severe physical injury or death.
ü
Work on electrical installations must be performed only by qualified electrical specialists.
ü
The statutory local safety provisions and the technical specifications must be complied
with.
1. Switch off the device power supply.
2. Secure the device against restarting.
3. Wait for five minutes until the device is fully discharged.
4. Check that no voltage is present.
11.1 Decommissioning the device
1) Close the shut-off valves for the reverse osmosis device.
2) Depressurise the plant. If available, open the bypass valve.

Device is disconnected from the water supply network; connection hoses can be dis-
connected.
3) Commission the BWT service team if you are taking the device out of operation for a
longer period of time.
11.2 Storing the device
Storage conditions for the reverse osmosis device
•
The storage room must be dry and clean.
•
Protect the device from chemicals, dyes, solvents and vapours.
•
Only store the device at 5–35
°C and with a humidity of 30–85% (non-condensing).
•
Protect the device against unauthorised access during the storage period.
•
Do not store the device unnecessarily to avoid the risk of standstill contamination.
•
Disinfect the device if it is stored for more than two weeks.
Storage conditions for chemical disinfectants/cleaning agents
•
Keep chemicals stored in as cool a place as possible and seal them tightly again immedi-
ately after removal.
•
Store chemicals separately from foodstuffs, drinks and animal feed and at a location that
cannot be accessed by children.
11.3 Putting the device back into operation
Recommissioning after a longer standstill must always be performed by the BWT service
team. In warm installation spaces, a disinfection must also be performed.
11.4 Disposal
The device consists of various materials which need to be disposed of properly. All
electronic parts must only be disposed of at an authorised recycling centre.

posal.
