Connecting Audio Inputs and Output for Two-Way Audio Communication
The encoder’s web interface can be used to enable two-way audio communication between a
technician located near the encoder in the field and an operator viewing the live video on a PC
running the encoder’s web interface.
The LINE IN jack enables the technician to connect a microphone to the encoder. The AUDIO OUT
jack enables the technician to listen to the operator via loudspeakers located near the encoder.
The audio output signal from the unit provides a Line Out 600Ω impedance level to an amplifier,
which drives the loudspeakers.

To connect a microphone to the encoder for two-way communication
Insert the plug on the microphone cable into the LINE IN jack on the front panel of the unit.
See Figure 1: EN-204 Front Panel (page 3).
Note:
The microphone must meet the following specifications:
Input impedance: 1k Ω
Maximum input level: 2V p-p
To connect a loudspeaker to the encoder for two-way communication
Connect AUDIO OUT jack on the front panel to a cable from an amplifier.
Connect the amplifier to the loudspeakers.
