5.5 EXTRA-RINSE
EXTRA-RINSE YES/NO will appear on the display; this option
allows for changing the timing of the B3, B5 and B7 steps
that are in sequence during a regeneration cycle (see table 3).
In the beginning, selecting “NO” is advisable so as to make
the softener work according to standard timing. At a later
stage, such datum can be changed only if needed.
By selecting “NO” and pressing
OK
the programming phase
can be continued.
By selecting “YES” and pressing
OK
, “
step B3 min sec
” will
be viewed on the display. Values can be increased or decre-
ased by pressing the
+
and
–
keys, and then selecting
OK
to confirm changes. You can then shift to adjust changes for
the B5 and B7 steps.

5.6 RESIN DISINFECTION AND SALT ALARM (fig. 4, A)
(MONITORING SALT PRESENCE)
The water softener is provided with a system that disinfects
the resins during regeneration.
This device is inserted in the valve (fig. 11, A). It has two
electrodes which, when coming in contact with salt water,
generate a hypochlorite through electrolysis. The hypochlorite
will come in contact with the resins and disinfect them.
If the electrodes do not find salt water, the electrolysis pro-
cess will not take place and the equipment will warn the user
through
a visual and acoustic signal that it is necessary to refill the
salt container.
The salt monitoring is performed during step B5 of the re-
ge-neration.
To activate the monitoring, when the writing “
SALT CHECK
”
appears on the display by pressing the
+
key, you can select
“YES” or “NO”.
If you select “NO” and press
OK
, salt check will not be perfor-
med and no alarm will be activated (the disinfection process
will be performed anyway).
You are now finished with setting and the display will show the
Service mode screen (chapter 5.8).
By selecting “YES”, “
AUDIBLE ALARM
” will be viewed on the
display.
By selecting “YES”, salt shortage will also be signaled by an
intermittent buzzer. By selecting “NO”, salt shortage will only
be viewed on the display.
By using the
+
key, you can select your choice.
Press
OK
to confirm.
End of settings.
5.6.1 SALT CHECK WARNING (fig. 4, B)
When the “
CHECK SALT
” message is displayed, a red led
light is on and an intermittent buzzer is triggered, the operator
shall check salt level in the brine as it is likely that the softener
has carried out the pre-set number of regeneration cycles.
When “
SALT WARNING
” is shown, the operator shall select
“YES” or “NO” by pressing the
+
button so as to set this
specific function.
- By seecting “NO” and pressing on the
OK
button salt moni-
toring is off. This means that no alarm is going to be trigge-
red and regeneration cycles, once all completed, will stop.
The display will show the operation screen (paragraph 5.8).
- By selecting “YES” the display will show “WARNING EVERY
xx REGENERATION CYCLES” (xx = number of regeneration
cycles to be set).
By pressing the
+
button the operator can choose the war-
ning frequency relative to salt checks in the brine tank. The
reference value goes from 1 to 10 regeneration cycles.
Press the
OK
button to confirm. The word “
BUZZER
” will be
displayed.
- By selecting “YES”, the salt alarm will also be warned via an
intermittent buzzer. Such device is on from 8 am to 12 pm
and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
- By selecting “NO”, the salt alarm will only be a visual war-
ning. By pressing on the
+
button, the operator can select
one of the two options. Press
OK
to confirm.
The setting procedure is completed.
5.7 VOLUMETRIC MODE SETTING
Data needed for volumetric setting are the following: water
hardness and the number of days that have to elapse before
the softener starts a regeneration cycle, irrespective of water
consumption.
5.7.1 REGENERATION SETTING BY USING
THE VOLUMETRIC PROGRAM
Press
OK
until the word “
SETTING
” is viewed on the display,
then press
OK
.
Press
OK
again and the wording “
VOLUMETRIC YES/NO
” will
appear on the display. By using the
+
key select “YES”, then
press
OK
.
The word “
HARDNESS
” (of water) will appear on the display;
it can be viewed in French degrees (°f) and in German de-
grees (°d).
Set the hardness value of the water to be softened by using
+
and
–
, then press
OK
.
“
Regeneration every xx days
” is the wording that will appe-
ar on the display. Set the number of days value by using the
+
and
–
keys, then press
OK
.
This value expresses the number of days that have to elapse
before the softener starts a regeneration cycle, irrespective of
water consumption. Values go from 00 to 30. By entering the
00 value, the softener will never start a “forced” regeneration
cycle; in fact, regeneration will only be based on the water
consumption actually measured. If, for instance, the value 10
is entered, the softener will carry out a
regeneration cycle, irrespective of actual water consumption.
Starting from this step, setting parameters are the sa-
me for both versions so you can go on by following in-
structions included in paragraph 5.3.
