To maximize the accuracy and measurement repeatability, make sure that all clamps have a good
connection to the test object and avoid any crossing between the measuring cables.
CAUTION
•
For safety reasons, a connection between the device and a test object(s)
should be always established as described in this Manual.
•
The measuring cables should not be connected / reconnected after the start of
the charging process.
•
The measuring cables should not be disconnected before the charging
process is over.
•
It is important to organize working area in order to avoid damaging cables. It
may cause life threatening situations.
3.2 Setting Test Parameters
After the BAC25A device is switched on, the initial message informing the user about name of the
device and installed firmware version is displayed, Figure 3-2.

After the initial screen is being displayed for several seconds, the BAC25A changes the display to
the main menu and the green LED lights up.
The BAC25A
keeps the user’s settings and offers them as default. What charging menu will be
displayed depends on user settings in the previous test. In case there are no saved test results, or
after the firmware upgrade, the IU charging menu (Figure 3-3) will be displayed.

The BAC25A device can perform charging in two modes:

Mode IU (Float charging) is a constant-current charging mode of a battery string,
-
Mode UU (Boost charging) is a constant-voltage charging mode of a battery string.
Besides the stated charging modes, the device can also be used as a power supply unit.
