Drive chain tensioning
Move the motorcycle slowly until you find the point at
which the upper section of the chain is most taut.
Set the motorcycle on its side stand.
Push the chain upward with a finger at the centre line of
the swingarm (see adhesive plate).
The bottom section of the chain must allow an excursion
of 30÷32 mm.
If this is not the case, have the chain tensioned at a
Ducati Dealer or Authorized Workshop.
Warning
For the safety of the rider, it is essential for the
eccentric hub screws to be correctly tightened.
Important
An incorrectly tensioned chain causes parts of the
transmission to wear out rapidly.
