HIS IS AN ATTENDED APPLIANCE. 

Do not leave unattended during use, unplug 

after each use (risk of fire if an unattended 

appliance is left operating or plugged in).

• T

his appliance must not be used by children younger 

than 8 years old and persons with very extensive and 

complex disabilities. Children aged 8-14 years and 
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental 
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge shall 

not use this appliance, unless they are supervised and 
have been given instruction concerning the use of the 

appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards 

involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. 

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by 

children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. 

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of 
children less than 8 years old.

use only. If the appliance is used improperly or for 
professional or semi-professional purposes or if 
it is not used according to these instructions the 

Guarantee becomes invalid and Dualit refuses any

lectrical safety

nsure that the voltage of the appliance 

corresponds to that of the mains supply.

ARNING: This appliance must be earthed.

o not operate any appliance with a damaged lead 

or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has 
been damaged, cracked or dropped in any manner. 
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by 

Dualit LTD, it’s service agent or a similarly qualified 
person in order to avoid a hazard.

ever touch the cable with wet hands.

• U

nwind and straighten the power cord before 

using the appliance.

• T

he use of extension cables not authorised by the 

manufacturer may cause damage or accidents.

• D

isconnect the appliance from the mains supply 

outlet under the following conditions:

- Before the Water Tank is filled with water.
- Before removing any parts from the appliance or      
  refitting any parts on the appliance.

- Before cleaning or maintenance.
- When the appliance is not working correctly.
- After using the appliance.
- When not in use or unattended.

o not use the appliance if dropped, cracked or 

damaged.

he use of accessory attachments not 

recommended by Dualit may result in fire, electric 

shock or injury to persons.

o not place the appliance on a polished wood or 

permeable surface, it could damage the surface.

o not place the appliance on a metal tray or 

other metal surface during use.

lace the appliance on a firm and steady surface.

o not place the appliance over or close to 

sources of heat such as electric rings, hot ovens or 
open flames.

o not place the appliance on a wet or hot surface

o not use the appliance without water as this 

may cause damage to the pump/boiler.

o not leave the appliance in a room with a 

temperature below 0°C, as any water remaining in 
the appliance could freeze and cause damage.

o not overfill the Water Tank.

o not use sparkling water (with carbon dioxide).

ever fill the Water Tank with hot or boiling 

water.

mpty the Water Tank when the appliance is 

unused for a long period.

llow the appliance to cool before putting on or 

taking off parts and before cleaning.

lways use cold water to make coffee. Warm 

water or other liquids could cause damage to the 
appliance.

nly use the appliance with the Drip Tray fitted.

se the grinder for grinding coffee beans only.

o not immerse the appliance in water or other 

liquids.

o not insert finger/other object into grinder.

f there is internal water leakage, do not operate 

the appliance and unplug it at once in order to 

avoid electric hazard.

urn the appliance off and unplug when not in 

use.

o prevent damage to the appliance do not use 

alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft 
cloth and a mild detergent.

o not use scouring pad or abrasive cleaner on 

the main body.

direct contact with hot liquid and steam.

ANGER: Beware of hot water/steam 

spurting out of the Coffee Nozzle during 
self-clean. This will occur each time the 
appliance is turned on.

nplug and allow to cool prior to moving.

o not place on a tray or surface that may 

collect liquid.

he power supply cable should not be allowed 

to come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not 

let the power cord hang over the edge of a table 

or counter.

e recommend that the appliance is plugged 

into a socket that has no other appliance 
connected to it. Failure to do this may cause an 

overload, trip a circuit breaker or blow a fuse. 

Preferably the socket outlet should be protected 

by a residual current device (RCD).

o not come into contact with the coffee 

outlet.

Cover must be washed with warm soapy water, 

then rinsed and dried.

F

ollow the instructions for set up on page 10, 

ensuring a Manual Rinse is performed by holding 
down the Power and Hot Water buttons for 5 
seconds.
