MAINTENANCE
Tension is difficult to measure but
there should not be sagging in one belt
and complete tension in the other.
Laser Cutters are delivered with the
proper amount of belt tension. It is
advisable to check belt tension when
the Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter is new
to establish a good baseline for future
reference. Simply depress the belt
lightly with your fingers and note the
deflection. The belt should deflect
about 1/4-1/2 inch with a light force.
b. Tensioning the belt.
Push on the idler
pulley mount by hand to loosen the
belt and to ensure the spring loaded
pulley is free to move and not binding.

a. Clean the exhaust fan and Exhaust
Shroud.
After prolonged use, the fan performance
can diminish due to dust build up on the
fan blades and Exhaust Shroud. If the

done more frequently. Debris can stick to
any surface in its path. If fan noise or

Disconnect the exhaust duct from the
Exhaust Shroud. With a clean soft cloth,
wipe the inside of the Exhaust Shroud to
remove all residue. With a soft cloth,
clean the dust off the fan blades. It will
be necessary to remove the fan from the
enclosure.
b. Inspect the exhaust duct.
Periodically inspect exhaust duct for
wear or damage. If any duct appears
worn, constricted or damaged, replace
before further use.
