Remove the two Bolts, Spacers, Flat Washers and Lock Washers that guide 
the Belt onto the Transaxle Pulley with a 7/16" Wrench (

Figure 13

). 

6.

 

Remove the Belt from the Pulleys and re-install the new Belt by reversing the 
above procedure. 

Installing a New Clutch 

Tools and supplies needed: 

 

1-1/2" Wrench 

 

5/8" Wrench 

1.

 

Remove the Drive Belt per previous instructions. 

2.

 

Hold the V-Belt Pulley with a 1-1/2" Wrench and remove the Bolt, Lock 
Washer and Large Flat Washer that secures the Clutch. 

3.

 

Remove the Clutch. 

Tip:

  Rock the Clutch back and forth while pulling and then change hand 

positions around the Clutch. 

NOTE: The V-Belt Pulley may come off when  the Clutch is removed. Check the 
orientation so it can be reinstalled correctly. 

4.

 

Install the new Clutch. 

NOTE:

 Make sure the Key is in the shaft and that you align the Keyway of the 

Clutch with the Key. 

Removing and Replacing the Blade 

Tools and Supplies needed: 

 

15/16"Wrench 

 

Gloves 

 

Block of wood to brace the Blade (at least 2" thick)

Brace the Blade with a block of wood between the Blade and the Mower 
Deck (

Figure 15

). 

2.

 

Remove the Blade Bolt (right-hand, regular thread) Lock Washer and Large 
Flat Washer. 

3.

 

Remove the Blade. 

4.

 

Mount the new Blade, Large Flat Washer, Lock Washer, and Bolt. 

NOTE:

  Be sure to position the Blade with the fins pointing up towards the Deck for 

it to work properly.

Use caution when pushing or pulling the wrench next to the blade.  Wear 
gloves; if the wrench slips off the bolt, you may be seriously injured.

Shut down the engine, remove the spark plug wire and wait 5 minutes before 
performing any maintenance procedure or inspection on the Mower.
