Computer does
not recognize an
internal or
external SCSI
device SCSI device jumpers incorrectly
set.
SCSI cable not terminated.
SCSI device not plugged in.
Terminating resistors not
removed from the SCSI device.
SCSI adapter failure.
SCSI ID conflicts.
Refer to the supplied SCSI device kit installation
instructions.
Terminate each end of the SCSI bus.
Check power and SCSI cables.
Remove terminating resistors.
Replace SCSI adapter.
Set SCSI IDs correct.
Computer does
not boot from
an internal
SCSI hard disk
drive Operating system software is not
installed on the SCSI hard disk
drive.
Requested partition does not
exist.
Computer not configured for
SCSI hard disk drive operation.
Install the appropriate operating system on the
SCSI hard disk drive.
Partition the SCSI hard disk drive and then reload
the operating software.
Run the BIOS Setup utility and set the IDE
controller option to “Disabled.” This disables the
IDE interface.
Note: When having both IDE and SCSI hard disk
drives installed, the computer uses the IDE hard
disk drive as the boot device.
Computer does
not boot from a
target diskette
drive Drive ID incorrectly set.
Diskette drive not enabled.
Diskette boot option disabled.
Onboard diskette controller
disabled.
Diskette does not contain start-
up files.
Make sure the drive ID is correctly set.
Run the BIOS Setup utility to enable the diskette
drive.
Run the BIOS Setup utility and set and set the
proper boot sequence.
Run the BIOS Setup utility and set the diskette
controller option to “Enabled”.
Insert a diskette with the correct start-up files.
No response to
keyboard
commands Keyboard is password protected.
Keyboard is connected to the
mouse port.
Computer operation halted.
Enter the keyboard password.
Power down the computer and connect the
keyboard to the keyboard port.
Reboot Computer.
