be attached to the vertical support
through a hole (marked L1 on the
schematic drawing). This pin can
be removed (from hole H1, fig.3)
to allow the cradle support arm to
fold down when not in use. The pin
can then be re-inserted through the
open hole in the bracket beneath
the hinge bolt (H2, fig.3) to hold the
arm in its folded position.
17. The four cradle assemblies (item
10 in the schematic drawing)
can now be slid onto the cradle
arm and each fastened in place
with a wire lock pin (item 12).
The normal position for the
cradles is horizontal, although
there is an allowance to fasten
them at alternative angles to
accommodate different bicycle
frame configurations.
18. Press the reflector plate (item 11)
onto the end of the cradle support
arm.
uSE
To allow access to the rear of the
vehicle through the hatch or tailgate,
the vertical support can be released to
tilt away from the vehicle. This may be
difficult if there are bicycles mounted
on it.
1. Remove any bicycles from the rack.
2. Remove the lower lanyard safety
pin and allow it to tilt away from the
vehicle until it hits the folding stop
(fig.4).
WARNING:
Do not drive with the
rack in this position.
To allow safe operation of the vehicle
when bicycles are not mounted on
the rack, the cradle support arm can
be folded down out of the way by
removing the upper lanyard safety pin
and re-fastening it through the other
hole in the bracket plate.
NoTE: Before each use, be sure
all the components of the rack are
in good working order. Verify that all
hardware is tight and secure before
mounting bicycles onto the BCR490.
FoLLoWING ASSEmbLy
1. Lift a bicycle to the horizontal cradle
bar and hang it by the crossbar
of the bicycle from the inner-most
(closest to the vehicle) cradle.

Ce boulon fonctionne comme une
charnière pour permettre au bras
de support de berceau pour plier
vers le bas lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.
16. Tenez le support de berceau dans
l’équerre en insérant une goupille
de sécurité à cordon (article n
o.
13)
à travers le trou dans les plaques
de support indiqué dans le schéma,
et l’extrémité du bras . Le cordon
de retenue pour la goupille doit
être fixé sur le support vertical à
travers un trou (L1 marqué sur la
vue explosée). Cette goupille peut
être enlevée (du trou H1, fig.3)
pour permettre au bras de support
de berceau pour plier vers le bas
lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé. La broche
peut alors être ré- inséré à travers
le trou (H2, fig.3) dans la tranche
au-dessous du boulon de charnière
pour maintenir le bras dans sa
position repliée.
17. Les quatre ensembles de berceau
(article n
o.
10 dans le schéma)
peuvent maintenant être glissés
sur le bras de support et chacun
fixés en place avec une goupille
de verrouillage avec ferrure (article
n
o.
12). La position normale pour
les berceaux est horizontale, bien
qu’il y ait une allocation pour les
fixer à des angles de rechange
pour s’adapter à différentes
configurations du châssis de vélo.
18. Appuyez sur la plaque de réflecteur
(article n
o.
11) sur l’extrémité du
bras de support de berceau.
uTILISATIoN
Pour permettre l’accès à l’arrière du
véhicule au coffre arrière ou au hayon,
le support vertical peut être libéré
à une distance de l’inclinaison du
véhicule. Cela peut être difficile s’il y a
des vélos sur le support.
1. Retirez tous les vélos.
2. Retirez la goupille de sécurité à
lanière inférieure et lui permettre
de basculer l’extérieur du véhicule
jusqu’à ce qu’il atteigne la butée de
pliage (fig.4).
