Installing The Power Interposer Board
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
1.
If applicable, install the power distribution board onto the power interposer board.
2.
Align the power interposer board with the hooks on the power supply cage and slide it into place.
3.
Install the four screws that secure the power distribution board to the chassis.
4.
Route the power cables through the securing clips as applicable, and connect the power cables to the system
board.
5.
Route the P3 power cable through the securing clip on the system board and connect power cable to the hard-
drive backplane.
6.
Install the power supply module(s) or power supply blank in their original locations.
7.
Close the system.
8.
If applicable, place the system upright on a flat, stable surface and rotate the system feet outward.
9.
Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
Replacing The Power Distribution Board

Remove the power interposer board and the power distribution board together from the system.
2.
Slide out the power distribution board from the power interposer board and replace with the new power
distribution board.
3.
Install the power interposer board and the power distribution board together in the system.

Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and
peripherals.
2.
If applicable, rotate the system feet inward and lay the system on its side on a flat, stable surface.
