1.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

2.

Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.

3.

Remove all the hard drives.

4.

Disconnect all the cables from the backplane.

5.

Disconnect control panel cables from the power distribution board.

6.

Remove the hard drive cage from the enclosure. The procedure to remove the hard drive cage is similar to Removing the 

backplane.

7.

Keep the Phillips #1 screwdriver ready.

Steps
1.

Remove the screws that secure the control panel assemblies to the enclosure.

2.

Remove the screws that secure the control panel assembly to the hard drive cage.

3.

Orient the hard drive cage so that the front of the cage is facing down.

4.

Remove the control panel assembly from the hard drive cage.
