Connect PC with backplane PCB not using a proxSafe terminal
If you choose to operate your flexx system without network connection and without using
the proxSafe terminal, you can connect the PC directly to the backplane PCB. The setting
of the dip switches on the SNG 3 depends on one hand on how many flexx systems (i.e.
flexx backplane PCBs) are connected (also refer to 3.16 „Install further flexx housings“)
and where the SNG 3 is located within the bus line. The connections and settings for the
SNG 3 are as follows:
1.
Set both dip switches on the adapter as follows:
a)
1 flexx backplane --> both “On”
b)
2 or more flexx backplane PCBs with
SNG 3 at end of bus line --> both “On”
c)
2 or more flexx backplane PCBs with SNG
3 in the middle of bus line --> both “Off”
2.
Connect to SNG 3 as follows:
b) USB connector to PC
e)
“Local MUX” --> “Terminal MUX” on
flexx backplane PCB

Connect keyPanels to backplane PCB
1.
Plug the first cable from the topmost flexx
keyPanel into the most right connector in the
behind row (as shown above). Then stay in
the same row and move with the next cables
to the left.
2.
If your flexx system includes more than 4
keyPanels (“24U”), continue with the next
keyPanel cables starting in the front row and
moving again from right to left.
