Operating the flexx without Ethernet Network
If you choose to operate your flexx system directly controlled by a (local) PC without using
a network connection, your delivery will include a USB adapter, e.g. SNG 3.
Now you have several possibilities to connect your (local) PC, also depending on if you
want to operate your flexx system with or without a proxSafe terminal. The individual
connections/settings of the SNG 3 will be given below for each option.
SNG 3 adapters with one yellow and one green LED are being powered by the USB cable
from the PC.
Note:
1.
If you want to connect an earlier version of SNG3 adapter with two green LEDs
and have problems with powering, use an additional power supply for the
SNG3 itself. For further information ask your local sales and service partner.
2.
All following options given in this chapter require jumper settings as shown in
picture 3.8.2.1 (jumpers not set!)!

Connect PC with proxSafe terminal via USB adapter
For operating the flexx system without network connection using the proxSafe terminal, you
have two possibilities: For direct connection of the PC with the terminal not using the
backplane connect the SNG 3 as follows:
1.
Set both dip switches on the adapter to
position “ON”.
2.
Connect to SNG 3 as follows:
a)
cable “Slave” from the proxSafe terminal
to connector “proxSafe” on SNG3
