4. FOR WORKING WITH THE APPLIANCE
See: “Description of the Appliance”.
5. CORRECT HANDLING
• Keep your working area clean and tidy.
• The appliance may only be used on a stable and robust surface.
• Lay the iron onto a stand intended for this purpose each time work is interrupted.
• Whilst working, fumes can be produced which are detrimental to health. Ensu-
re that the area is well aired and suitably ventilated.
• Do not work with the appliance in an explosive atmosphere, where combusti-
ble fluids, gases or dust can be found.
• The appliance may not be damp or be used in a damp atmosphere.
• Store the appliance in a dry, frost proof place.
• Only use the appliance in well ventilated rooms.
• When using the appliance for the first time, a small amount of smoke may de-
velop, which can arise due to the evaporation of the lubricants used during
manufacturing.
• This has no influence on the function of the appliance.
• The iron becomes hot especially at the tip and the heating element.
• Always stay at an adequate distance from the heated pieces or pieces to be
heated.
• Do not block the ventilation at the tip and the heating elements of iron and
always keep these clean.
• After each application - and especially before packing it away after finishing
your work - leave the appliance to cool down for a sufficient period of time.
6. SERVICE
If the appliance or the connections are damaged, you may not continue to use
this appliance.
Have the appliance repaired only by qualified experts and only with original spare
parts.
• This unit can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge when they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the safe use of the device and understand the resulting risks.
• Children are not allowed to play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without
supervision.
• Do not leave any packing material carelessly lying around.
• Plastic film/bags, polystyrene pieces etc. can become dangerous playing ob-
jects for children.
• Due to the intended function of the appliance heat is generated.
• Protect the eyes and body with suitable working clothes.
• Do not wear any jewellery and any heat-sensitive or loose-fitting clothing.
• Touching the metal parts of the iron can lead to people and animals being se-
verely burned.
• Switch off the appliance when exchanging tips.
• Exchanging the tip is quite easy, but this should not be done as long as the iron
is hot (danger of burning!).
• Use a tool to exchange the tips and place them in a heat proof dish to cool down.
• Ensure that you are standing securely and keep your balance at all times.
• Avoid unintentionally starting the appliance.
• Ensure that the switch (if the appliance is equipped with one) is in the position
"Off" or "0", before inserting the plug into the socket.
