4.2.8.5 Reboot Switch

This menu choice allows a user to reset the switch without cycling power or pressing

the front panel reset button. A switch reset is required after port or fabric chip flash

reprogramming for the new flash image to be loaded into the FPGAs. The screen

dialog is self explanatory, as shown in Figure 41. Note that if the user presses “y” and

then the “enter” key, the screen will NOT indicate that the switch has rebooted.

Pressing the “Enter” key again will cause the switch to display the login user name

prompt.

4.2.9 Diagnostic Test menu

This menu allows you to select one (or all) of the diagnostic tests to be run. Please

note that some of the tests execute as soon as they are selected from the main

menu.
