Figure 18 illustrates the screen dialog that occurs when a port is selected for
configuration. User entries are in bold.
Turning an unused port OFF will reduce the power consumption of the switch.
Turning a port off also disables the fiber-optic transmitter; no light will be emitted from
the Tx connector.
The B-B credit configures how many outstanding R_RDYs the switch will delay
before it stops transmitting frames out the specified port. The value selected here is
overridden by the explicit log-in value.
RT_TOV is the receiver-transmitter time out value (in milliseconds) and is used to
time events on the link such as Loss-of-Synchronization and expected responses to
link-level protocols. The value specified by the standard is 100 ms.
