The Master Switch is useful when implementing a multi-switch system.  It allows for 

one switch to assume the role of fabric “master”, whereas all other switches would 

potentially be slaved to the master.  Only one switch per multi-switch fabric should be 

designated to be the master switch.  

If only one switch is being used in the system, then this bit should be set to „1

‟ (

4.2.5.3  WKA Sub-menu 

This configuration sub menu allows you to configure the WKA (Well Known Address) 

servers  in  the  switch.  This  screen  is  shown  in  Figure  12.  Servers  without  number 

prefixes  are  not  implemented.  The  screen  does  not  show  the  dialog  for  the 

implemented servers, but the dialog choice for implemented servers is to enable the 

server (1) or disable the server (0).

4.2.5.4  Global Settings Sub-menu 

This  configuration  sub  menu allows  you  to configure  the  switch

‟s

  port  speeds  (two 

banks of 8 ports each), enable or disable the address mask 0 bit check, select one of 

the four address masks and set the E_D_TOV value. The screen in Figure 13 shows 

the  current  global  settings  for  the  switch.  Note  that  these  settings  can  also  be 

downloaded (see section 4.2.5.9.3)
